The Refinery · Rising Tide Fellowship

Refined by fire

Deep Catholic teaching that follows you into real life

Once a month, the whole fellowship gathers for theology deep enough to change how you live. You'll get uncomfortable. You'll leave convicted. And you'll carry something real into your marriage, your kids, and your next hard conversation.

The Catholic differenceGod is the Refiner (Malachi 3:2–3). Regan teaches, and He does the refining.

Depth you can stand on

Theology that goes all the way down

You've probably heard plenty of encouraging Catholic content. The Refinery takes you to the sources: the Catechism, St. Thomas Aquinas, the Doctors of the Church, and Scripture read in its own context. Each teaching is long enough to go deep, so you finally understand why the Church teaches what she does.

A few of the questions the Refinery answers:

  • Why the fruit of the Spirit is already growing in you, and how to find it before you hunt for problems to fix Galatians 5:22–23 · CCC 1832
  • How your behaviors connect to the condition of your whole person, body and soul CCC 364 · CCC 2288 · the Ignatian Examen
  • Whether God designed an autumn crash, or whether we've been short-circuiting His seasons Ecclesiastes 3:1–2
  • What to do when you've crashed and burned, and how God tends a worn-out servant 1 Kings 19
  • Why living things are hungry, and how holy fasting differs from survival-mode restriction The Church's tradition of fasting · 1 Kings 19:7
  • Why the Church is still celebrating Christmas while the world races ahead to resolutions The liturgical year
The Catholic differenceEvery teaching is faithful to the Magisterium. Regan finds the truth already present in the Church and teaches it in your language.

Application you can live by Tuesday

Faith that shows up in the kitchen

Every teaching connects what you believe to where you actually live, and sends you out with one interior movement to carry through the month.

At home

Your marriage, your kids, and the people who usually get your emptiest cup.

At the table

Eating and resting like the living, hungry woman God made, and fasting the way the Church intends.

In hard seasons

What to do after a crash, and the choices that protect your capacity before the next one.

In your year

Intentions that come from deep within you instead of from pressure, set in step with the season you're really in.

The Catholic differenceThe Church teaches that by free will you shape your own life (CCC 1731). Faith and action belong together, and the Refinery puts them back together for you.

You belong in the room

Same fire, wherever you are today

Every Refinery teaching is built to serve you, whatever season you walk in with.

If you're depleted

The fire shows you that where you are today doesn't define who you are. You're starting from gifted, with grace already at work.

If you're energized

The fire confirms that what you're feeling is real and worth running with, and gives it a foundation that lasts.

If you're in between

The fire helps you live inside the tension with peace, the way the Church has always held surrender and agency together.

The Catholic differenceYou're welcome from day one. You don't have to finish anything first or have it together. The sacraments meet you where you are, and so does this room.

The whole person, through the year

The Refinery moves with the seasons

Over the year, the teaching walks your whole person through God's rhythm of growth, so wherever you join, you're right on time.

Winter

Honest inventory

A quieter, interior season for naming what's actually true.

Spring

Dreaming

You lift your eyes and say the thing you've been keeping small.

Summer

Doing and testing

Wins named out loud and live coaching where you're still stuck.

Fall

Pruning and gratitude

Releasing what didn't bear fruit, giving thanks for what did, and moving into Advent with open hands.

The Catholic differenceJesus teaches that the Father prunes every branch that bears fruit so it bears more (John 15:2). The seasons give that pruning a rhythm you can live with.

A library that keeps refining you

Go back into the fire whenever you need it

Every teaching is recorded and stays inside for you. Start from the beginning, return to one in a new season, and watch it land differently as you grow. The library deepens every month and will hold a full year of teaching by next summer.

Inside now

  • Start finding the spiritual fruit in your life
  • Your behaviors are tied to your condition
  • Did God design an autumn crash?
  • Okay, so you crashed and burned. Now what?
  • Living things are hungry

Coming next

  • December · Make Room for Advent
  • January · Hidden Before Rising
