The Encounter Room · Rising Tide Fellowship

Your body is speaking

Bring your whole self to Christ, body included

Every Thursday, you'll open your body, listen with the Holy Spirit, and meet Christ with what you find. Then you'll walk out steady enough to take your next step in faith.

The Catholic differenceThe Church teaches that you're one person, body and soul (CCC 364). So your healing gets to include all of you.

Who it's for

You pray, you go to Mass, and something still feels stuck

Maybe it's a tight jaw at night, a weight on your chest, or a decision you keep circling. The Encounter Room is where you bring the resistance and the hard emotions and get real help with them.

  • You're carrying a hard decision and you want to hear what God is asking of you, in your own heart.
  • You've tried to push through with willpower and you're tired of muscling your way toward holiness.
  • Your body is talking through tension, tightness, or old aches, and you want to understand what it's saying.
  • You're functioning on the outside and quietly aware that something underneath is off.
  • You want healing that's faithful to the Church and honors the body God made.
The Catholic differenceSt. Thomas Aquinas and the Catechism teach that your passions are the raw material of virtue (CCC 1764–1770). So we listen to them and bring them to God.

The Rising Tide Method

When you know what to do and still can't do it

That's the survival loop. Something activates you, you overfunction, your body crashes, shame shows up, and you promise to do better tomorrow. Then it starts again.

  • Activation
  • →
  • Overfunctioning
  • →
  • Crash
  • →
  • Shame
  • →
  • Reset and repeat

Insight alone won't get you off the loop, because your body still believes intensity is safe. The Encounter Room is where your body learns, slowly and safely, that steadiness is safe. You bring your resistance to the Cross, and the Holy Spirit does the work your willpower can't.

It's the most tender space in the fellowship, and the gentlest.

The Catholic differenceYou stop confusing exhaustion with sacrifice and collapse with surrender. Virtue gives in proportion, and a steady body can finally follow through on what you already know is good.

How a session works

Five movements, one encounter

Each Thursday follows the same gentle path. About 30 minutes of guided prayer and body work, then live coaching on whatever you're carrying.

i.

Arrive

Name what you've been carrying in your heart and body: a grumble, a worry, a decision.

Your discernment belongs to you and the Lord.

ii.

Open

Simple movement and breath to open your posture, take up the space you were made for, and find your edges.

Your body is God's design, worth tending (CCC 2288).

iii.

Hear

Invite the Holy Spirit, choose one sensation, and give it your full, steady attention.

Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19).

iv.

Encounter

Guided prayer where you meet Christ and receive His comfort first, then His gentle correction.

Imaginative prayer in the tradition of St. Ignatius.

v.

Come home

Breathe in the truth you received, then bring it into live coaching and one clear next step.

Trust in God and an action plan belong together.

The foundation Food, rest, bare feet on the earth, and daylight on your skin. St. Hildegard of Bingen called God's greening life viriditas, and caring for your body makes room for it.

The Catholic difference

Grace builds on nature, so we start with yours

Plenty of body practices are out there. This one is Catholic all the way down, from the prayer that opens it to the theology underneath every movement.

Edges, held in Christ

Many practices teach you to soften your edges until you dissolve into everything. Here you learn where you begin and where you end, so you can recognize the Holy Spirit who dwells in you.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Feelings, ordered toward virtue

You'll learn to hear your feelings and bring them to Christ, so they serve the good instead of running the show.

St. Thomas Aquinas · CCC 1764–1770

Your conscience, formed and trusted

The Church gives you the doctrine. God speaks to you personally about how to live it. We help you find that line and hear Him for yourself.

The Catechism · Ignatian discernment

“You are finite. That's a good thing. And then we can better tune in to what God is telling us.”

Regan Clement

Rooted in St. Thomas Aquinas, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Hildegard of Bingen, and the Church's teaching on the unity of body and soul.
