Embracing Your Emotions: The Power of Surrender

Do you ever feel victimized by your own emotions?

Victimized by Your Emotions?

Out of control? Powerless? Dis-integrated? In a constant battle against yourself?

It's a battle that can't be won, because emotions don't go away unless and until we allow them to be seen, heard, and felt.

Emotions are not our enemy.

However, by judging them as bad or wrong and aiming to quickly banish them, we turn them into adversaries and mistakenly claim victory.

But this is fighting an un-win-able battle.

Your emotions are there for a reason – they are your body and mind's response to SOMETHING. And from the perspective of some part of you, it is dang IMPORTANT.

STOP fighting against your emotions

So the most effective way through is to STOP fighting against your emotions. To pause, see, hear, and feel those emotions. To acknowledge, and accept their presence.

To say to them, “You're RIGHT. I see you. I hear you in your feeling of powerlessness. You get to have a voice, now. Take my hand, and tell me more. Let's do this together.”

You become the victor when you STOP fighting.

It's victory by surrender, and it's a beautiful thing.

See you in the Rising Tide!
